Yeah, it just doesn't feel right not posting for a month. haha It's just that university has gotten to me, and it's only freshman year. :(

Well, to update, I've been listening to Big Bang's new album on repeat for quite awhile now. (: Really liking their first release, Blue, and Daesung's solo, Wings.

I've only had time to listen to music, and not watch any TVB dramas. I hear Hippocratic Crush is good? What do you guys think? LOL

{tvb} Tavia's new series

Apparently Tavia is supposed to be filming an ancient or pre-modern series after she finishes 36 Hours, and people are speculating that it would be either 名媛望族 (Prominent Family) or 大太監 (The Great Eunuch). There are pros and cons for each series, but either way I'll be watching whatever series she films (unless it's Prominent Family with a Kenvia pairing). So, here are my thoughts on the pros of each series.

名媛望族 (Prominent Family)

Pre-modern series means she might have long hair
Possible TaRo pairing
Tavia and Fala scenes

大太監 (The Great Eunuch)

Tavia will get to work with Wayne
Possible Raymond Wong and Tavia pairing
Pretty ancient clothing for Tavia to wear (maybe)

Okay, this might be Raymond bias, but I'd kind of rather Tavia film Eunuch. Sure, I love Fala and Ron, but Tavia deserves a good ending with Raymond! When TOT2 does film, I'm pretty sure Mavis and Keith will end up together and Wallace will be all lonely. I don't think anyone wants a repeat of the doomed Stevia pairing, so I'm definitely up for some YinYi. ;D

{tvb} Men With No Shadows Thoughts Ep 1-4

After the first four episodes, I'm hooked. I can't wait to watch the fifth episode, especially because 4 ended with a cliff-hanger.

I was surprised that the three leads were all introduced in the first episode, but I'm also glad, because it means that they will all have more screentime with each other. I'm happy with all the FungYi scenes that were in episodes three and four, and I can't wait for more. :)

Raymond's moh gwai character is refreshing. I love it when he interacts with Dr. O because their scenes are always so interesting or funny. I loved it when Ray delivered his "sorry" line towards Vincent (Power) so nonchalantly. I wish Fong Fong (Tavia) would get more interesting though. I don't like it how she uses Dr. O and Toi Fung to make Vincent mad.

Today is September 1st over here, and I just wanted to say that it's the first day of school for Hogwarts. lol I'm rereading the whole series, so I'm kinda in Harry Potter mode here. I wonder why TVB's never made a series about wizards and witches. I guess it doesn't really go with anything, huh, since it's kinda European or whatever. And there aren't any younger idol stars to act in a magical HP-like series...

Anyways, some good news, it seems that the original cast of TOT will be in the sequel.

{tvb} The Other Truth Overall Thoughts

A late post, but it's better late than never right?

I started watching The Other Truth with little to no expectations, and I only watched it because of three reasons: Tavia, Raymond Wong, and because the series revolved around cases. And I'm glad that I watched it, because it is definitely my favorite series this year (not that I watched that many series).

Favorites

-Character: Wallace Cheuk Siu Him

Okay, so the three main leads were all likeable, but I admit to having a soft spot for Him Siu (yes, Raymond bias). He started out as the typical rich playboy, but after interacting with Mavis for some time, he really changed a lot. I have to say that Episode 19 was my favorite, and it was mainly because of the Wallace-Mavis scenes. The "I love you too" part was really sweet, and not to mention the whole saving Mavis' life part. If somebody else played him, I don't think I would have rooted for Wallace all that much during the whole series; you could sense the pain he felt when he saw Keith and Mavis interacting. Although it seemed obvious to me that Mavis loved Keith, I just felt so sorry for Wallace, and also now Raymond because he never ends up with Tavia. lol

-Pairing: none

Sorry, but I can't pick! I liked Keith or Wallace with Mavis... I know that Mavis and Keith should have ended up together , but Wallace is just too sweet! So I guess it's somewhat a tie? Plus the ending kind of ruined the love triangle, so I can't say that I really liked the two pairings. James and Madam Miu were cute, but it seemed kinda rushed. Danny and Ivy were okay, although I really dislike Ivy. Dai C and Alex was meh, since I believe that Alex didn't really love her.

-Case: Kill the Cop (殺警) and Patricide (弒父)

The cop case was definitely the most interesting and exciting case for me. Although I guessed what happened to On gor's cop friend when Wallace first came across the killing, I was curious as to how the case would play out. Plus, as I said before, Episode 19 is too good. :D Cop cases are always interesting, and it helped that there were lots of scenes of the three leads.

I also really liked the first case, the one with Louise Lee and Brian Chu. I liked how Amy Wong decided to start the series out with this case, because it showed the audience what kind of guy Keith was. Plus, the scenes were so heart-breaking, like how Louise would lie and attempt to admit guilt just to help her son. Also, the cause of the dad's death was pretty surprising, I just thought that Chung Jai really killed him.

Surprises

-Brian Burrell as Michael (Mavis' ex-husband): When they first tell you, I was so shocked. lol I just thought that Michael really liked Mavis, but in reality they were married before. I don't get how Mavis was in love with Michael though, I mean from her interactions with Keith and Wallace, he doesn't seem her type.

-Rosanne Lui being evil: Yeah, I thought she was good until they reveal all her faults. I mean, TVB type-casted her as the good mom/wife lady who's always sick, so I always thought that she was good. GG TVB.

-Episode 21 case: I actually understood what the defendant was saying without reading the subs! Haha I knew that there were a lot of people that spoke Teochew in HK, but I didn't expect a character who only knew Teochew in a series. I was watching that episode with my family, and we were all laughing when we realized that they spoke our dialect. I definitely loved the part where Madam Miu was called an auntie. XD

-Astrid Chan as Krystal Tin's aunt: Yup, that was a huge shocker.

And so I found this picture on Baidu. I have to say, this would have been a way better ending than the real one TVB gave us. Come to think of it, I would have totally shipped Wallace x Keith. In episode two when Wallace first appeared, he kept holding on to Keith's arm. And it could have been that Wallace wasn't jealous of Keith and vise versa but they were actually both jealous of Mavis. A fangirl can dream, right? :D

Korean version of 愛不疚?? (It's at 3:00 or so) lol I wish the fans were quieter so I could hear all of the Korean lyrics. Grr. And I'm hoping when EEG sells the concert DVD there's a super HQ version of this as well. :D So I'm watching some vids of Raymond singing his (old) songs at his new concert and I'm feeling quite nostalgic. I've been neglecting Raymond news because the reporters are always so mean, so I'm hoping that the Ray fan in me comes back. haha

Well anyways, I haven't posted in quite awhile since I was at my freshman orientation for university~ I hated the boring presentations, but the free time was great and I made new friends. :D Plus my classes aren't that bad either. haha

{tvb} The Other Truth Episode 10 Thoughts

I just finished Episode 10 of The Other Truth today, and this episode was one of the most frustrating to watch. Who cares about the jury?!?!?! Gah. I hate how there was only a few minutes of Tavia, even though she's supposed to be the lead and the prosecutor of the case.

But anyways, this kinda reminds me of the 'Jury Duty' episode in Malcolm in the Middle. Lois (the mom) was serving in the jury, and all the jurors all voted guilty so they could leave, but she persuaded them to think about the case. She voted not guilty the first time so she could get the other jurors to think about the defendant's innocence, but then when they took a second vote after she persuaded them, she voted guilty and made them all stay again. lol And in a way, Mrs. Wai (Angelina Lo) was kind of like Lois, the person who screws things up for the other juror while having well-meaning intentions. Well, what I'm trying to say is that at least in Hong Kong they only have 7 jurors while in America there's 12...and 12 jurors would have made for an even more boring episode. Also, near the ending, I was wondering if Chima really was innocent or not (luckily they tell you) but it kinda reminded me of the play/movie 12 Angry Men. In the end, one juror convinces everyone that the defendant was innocent, but it was never addressed when the film was over. I was hoping that this episode wouldn't end that way, and I was happy that it concluded. haha

SPOILERS here: There's one thing that is bothering me though. If Chima was innocent, then what was that intense death glare he gave Cecilia (Natalie) in that one part when they were applying for bail?? I mean, sure she's part of the prosecutor's side, but that doesn't mean she makes or breaks the case. lol

I'm actually re-watching Lofty Waters Verdant Bow, haha. I only remembered the ending, and so a lot of things surprised me (esp. one Benz and Fiona scene). Re-watching it makes me wonder why I liked the Raymond scenes so much, since the Power/Mimi ones are much more interesting. Plus I really dislike Rain Li's character, so those scenes are boring as well. (Even back then I rooted for Michelle Yip. :D)

I haven't done a movie post in quite a long time...well if you guys remember my Laughing Gor one, I mentioned that I watched a lot of HK triad/cop movies. Although they're almost always the same plot over and over again, they're my favorite genre. hehe

Basically, the plot was that 90% of HK's police force is corrupted, and so the ICAC was formed. That was pretty much the whole plot. haha But it was actually played pretty well, considering Wong Jing movies aren't that good lately. I really liked the main cast though: Anthony Wong, Tony Leung Ka Fai, Eason Chan, Bowie Lam, Alex Fong Lik Sun, and Wong Jing.

What surprised me though was that somehow there were a lot of TVB artistes in this movie, even though it wasn't from the Shaw Brothers.

In addition to Bowie (who was the head of an ICAC branch), Kate Tsui was Eason Chan's 4th wife. The bigger roles had Timmy Hung as a cop, Kenny Wong as some random gangster guy (a useless role as always), and this veteran who I can never remember his name as Alex Fong's uncle. What was weird though was that Gill Mohindepaul Singh had a cameo in this movie. He was in jail, and he switched his food (curry and chicken btw, how racist TVB) with this corrupted British officer's food (some chewy steak apparently). It was funny though.

The thing is, the most enjoyable plot line was Gale (Eason Chan) and his professional/romantic life. Although I usually do not like Kate's character, I liked the scenes she were in the most. She was sweet and kind, unlike some of the recent roles that she has in TVB series.

This year TVB is determined to train newcomers into shooting series. Besides the sequel to Triumph in the Skies using newcomers, Producer Poon Ka Tak is planning to cast newcomers for heavier roles in his new doctor series 36 Hours On Call. The series is temporarily set for Kenneth Ma and Tavia Yeung for the leading roles.

It was said that TVB hopes to speed up the training on the new generation FaDan and Siu Sangs in the next half year to handle the demands of the future series. Not only does TVB plan to select newcomers from the acting class, but also recruit new talents from other areas to join in on the plan to promote newcomers. The group of newcomers will not only have the opportunity to shoot series, but also be arranged to enter the movie industry and shoot movies. TVB hopes to boost them into fame in the shortest amount of time. Like The Voice singer Mag Lam, TVB gave her several opportunities to develop in different areas. She is currently the one artist that will surely be well-known and considered as one example of TVB's success in promoting newcomers.

WTH? They just had 3K, and now TVB wants them in the same series again??? Please change the cast... not only do I not like the Kenneth-Tavia pairing, but who cares about newcomers? Why can't TVB just be content with the people they have now? We all know that none of the new MHK, Mr. HKs or especially Mag Lam will be any good at acting, so why try forcing them down viewers' throats?

EDIT: Hm okay, wow thank you Kenneth for confirming that you and Tavia will really film this. AGH. I'm just hoping that since TVB is so...TVB, they'll at least put Fred in this. I mean, if they make Fred a high school student after so many years, they can make him a medical intern. But then again, it takes around ten years to become a doctor, so he's around the correct age anyways. And preferably they have Oscar too. Plus Jason and Him. You know what, how about TVB have no female newcomers, cause I don't really like any of them, except Katy, if you still count her as a newcomer.

This is a really lengthy trailer.. lol. It has so many spoilers too. To be honest, I don't think I will be watching this because it looks like a typical palace drama, and I've watched my fill of that. All their characters seem pretty typical/stereotyped, and I only think Patrick Tam's character is interesting enough to watch. I'll keep an eye out for reviews/episode synopses, and I might watch Tavia cuts though.

Anyways, Tavia's makeup is not as bad as the one in Beyond, but all their costumes look pretty horrible, and I especially do not like Ady's or Feng Shao Feng's wardrobe.

I'm trying to hold off doing my final post on Only You. haha So instead of typing up a very overdue post, I decided to sort of review for my AP Psychology exam by using psych terms to describe what TVB does. :3

Foot-in-the-Door Phenomenon: the tendency for people to comply with a large request after agreeing to a small one. Well, viewers do not technically comply with any requests, but this phenomenon somewhat works. For example, if TVB isn't so sure whether or not a new actor/actress will be accepted by the masses, then they will first give the actor/actress a small role. A recent example is Sire Ma with O.L. Supreme. Her role in this was not that big or small, but her role in MWNS is definitely bigger than this one.

Group Polarization: the enhancement of a group's prevailing inclination through discussion within the group. When people go online to talk about their fave/hated actor or actress, their views will be strengthened as they talk with others. This applies more to netizens who discuss TVB and not the company itself though. Basically, that Hater's/Critic's thread at AF is a breeding ground for intensified hate/trolls.

Group Think: the mode of thinking that occurs when the desire for harmony overrides a realistic appraisal of the situation. I bet this is where all TVB's failed series start off. The producer suggests an idea for a series, then all the other people try to keep peace in the group by agreeing with the ideas...

Mere Exposure Effect: the phenomenon that repeated exposure to new stimuli increases the liking of it. One of TVB's most loved tactics. In their case, they bombard viewers with the same actors and actresses that they want to promote. Miss HK anyone?

{tvb} Only You Episodes 9-30 Thoughts

LOL I didn't blog about Only You for a long time, huh? Well, better late than never. :D I'll put my thoughts in order of the stories, and some specific storylines (Summer and Mandy, Summer and his dad, Sze Tim and Ah Ho) will be kept for my final thoughts.

Amazing Love {Leo (Vin Choi) and Miki (Lee Yee Man), episodes 7-9}

I wish that they could have focused more on the psychological aspect of the story instead of how it was all Leo's fault. The ending was pretty funny though. What I liked about this story was the part about Chai Gor and Phoebe, I loved how he rescued her at the gravesite/hill place. ♥ And another good part was when everyone thought the egg tarts had rat poison in it, lol.

I Have a Dream {Maggie (Kitty Yuen) and Angus (Stephen Huynh), Ashley (Joel Chan) and Mandy (Yoyo Mung) episodes 11 - 13}

How on earth is there such a nice person like Maggie? She loves Angus a lot, but she doesn't try to offend him by trying to say anything about Rebecca. And no offense or anything, but why did she want to be friends with Mandy?? haha. The twist with Ashley's character was so random. I guess that would explain why he took things so fast with Mandy (cause he wanted a baby) but was it necessary to make him so mean? The only good thing about it was that Summer was so nice to Mandy~

Perfection of Deformity {Ah Chak (Raymond Wong) and Ah Kuen (Elena Kong), Yiu Yiu (Vivien Yeo) and Summery (Kevin Cheng), episodes 14-15}

What a really sweet story this was! Although it was kind of clichéd with the "pretend to fall in love but then later actually fall in love" relationship, Ah Chak and Ah Kuen were too sweet! I was really glad that they married in the end~

In these episodes, Yiu Yiu (Vivien Yeo) also comes back. And my gosh, what a b---- she was. Ugh, I can't really stand these types of people. She comes back (and being all prissy about it), makes out with Kevin, and then leaves without saying a word. Yeah, what a great girlfriend.

Her Husband is a Boss {Siu Long (Chin Ka Lok) and Chu Chu (Ella Koon), episodes 15 - 17}

This is my second favorite storyline, purely because it was so funny. haha In my opinion though, Chu Chu was being pretty selfish. Although asking Siu Long not to run the dojo was probably in his best interests, she can't really expect his dad to agree to immigrate, even if it was only to Singapore. Or, at least she could have given them more notice, instead of saying it out of the blue. Also, she's freaking pregnant and she drinks?? Or at least that one time when she was mad at Siu Long...has she ever heard of Fetal Alcohol Syndrome?

A Wealthy Family's Wedding {Tang Choi Kiu (Susan Tse), Lee Chui Yin, Heung Wai Ho (Fred Cheng), Heung Yin Pui, episodes 20 - 21}

Wow, it's just so TVB to have Fred in the story, but make him not even part of the storyline at all. He was just some background character that did nothing, and basically TVB could have just used anyone...) And his wife doesn't even get a whole name... >.> Well, this story wasn't even that important because it was mainly used to add more to the Sze Tim (Louise Lee) vs. Wong Mei Ho (Helen Ma) story...

Mom, I'm Getting Married {Ching Ching (Natalie Tong) and Marco (Alan Wan), episodes 22 - 25}

Let's just say that Ching Ching can really p--- people off. Why some guy that's as nice as Marco would marry her is a mystery to me. But then again, her mom can also be too stubborn/obstinate as well. Like mother, like daughter.

Dreams of the Closing Year {Kau po po (Lai Suen), Wong Fung (Ching Hor Wai), Ma Kai Hung (Lau Dan), and Ho Yuk Ying (Rosanne Lui), episodes 22 - 30}

I really feel sad for Kau po po and her daughter, she waited and tried to find her husband for so many years, but in the end it turns out that he died. :( And I guess in some ways, her story was similar to Sze Tim's, in that they both ended up broken-hearted. My favorite scene was when Summer chased after the thief that stole Kau po po's purse...so man! haha As for the Tim, Hung, Ying love triangle, I really don't get why Sze Tim would think that there was a chance that she and Hung would get back together. I mean, geez, he left her more than ten years ago, and he came back a few years ago to Hong Kong. If he didn't try to look for her a few years ago, what would make him want to get back with her now?? Okay, I still feel bad for her, but it takes two to tango, and she was also at fault in the relationship.

My Indian Father-in-law {Ah Yan (Shermon Tang), Peter, Gill, episodes 25-27}

Another comedic storyline. Somehow, I can't help but think that TVB played up the stereotypes so much. It was funny how the mom understood Cantonese and snitched on the husbands/boyfriends, and the guys all thought it was Peter though.

The Last Wedding {King (Lai Lok Yi), Kaka (Elaine Yiu), episodes 27-30}

Kaka was so annoying. I understood why Phoebe, Mandy, and Auntie Fong were so angry. lol It was funny how there was this whole thing about how Kaka and King's deaths were unnecessary, but I thought it fit well with the storyline. Although it could have been written better and not so sudden, it was all for the best. Besides, not all stories end in happiness. The story name is ironic though, because they never really got married.

This isn't coming out until the 25th, but somehow all the new (unplugged) songs are already out?

Okay, first of all, her album cover looks so weird. I saw some other pictures from her CD photo shoot, and they were all better than this one. I mean, it's a really weird angle to put lipstick on. What gives?

Anyways, I thought this would be an EP when I heard it would have only four new songs, but it turns out to be a new and best collection. I thought there was some unwritten rule that an artist must have more than a few CDs/EPs before they can come up with a collection CD, but I guess not anymore. She barely had any songs in the first place; it's like they took half the songs from each of her CDs to put into this "collection". I'd rather that this was an EP... it seems Star Entertainment is becoming like EEG, milking money out of their artists.

Her new songs are nothing special, and the only one that I like is I'll be Waiting for You, and only cause I like the English lines. haha

{tvb} Only You Thoughts Episodes 3-8

I'm really liking Only You so far. The main storyline is interesting, and I can't wait for more scenes of Yoyo and Kevin. I really like their characters, and I might even become their fans because of this. haha I just wish the series has a little more focus on them.

Hm well as for the mini-storylines, however, they were kinda meh. The only wedding couple that I liked was Leanne and Eddie Lee. Macy and Ruco's story was too unbelievable for me and was pretty much a cliche. It was okay to watch though cause of the action part. Then Charmaine Li and Jason's was pretty boring, so I ended up fast-forwarding through the scene when they were in the hopsital. ahaha Now I'm onto Vin and Lee Yee Man's story. I'm kinda wondering what's wrong with 'Miki' because in AP Psych we just finished learning about psychological disorders and therapies. :D

EDIT: Just realized that I forgot the funniest storyline so far. So, Yoyo and Johnson used to go out, and one day they meet up again. He wants her to sign away something (I don't know what it's called in English lol.) and he misleads her into thinking that he still likes her. Later she finds out that he was lying to her and demands for her money back.
She starts working for Only You now, and it turns out that Johnson and his rich fiancee, Claire, want to hire Only You's services. Claire tells Kristal that she'll only hire Only You if Yoyo is her assistant, and she tries to treat Yoyo badly because she finds out that Johnson gave Yoyo money. She steps on Yoyo's arm while she's trying on a wedding gown, but then Yoyo pushed her and she fell down. She lies and said that she can't walk anymore and sues Only You. Yoyo tries to make Claire not sue them, but Claire doesn't want to give in. Later a thief steals her purse and then she runs in really high heels and tackles the thief. Yoyo got that all on camera...lol. I really like this storyline.

Ugh I feel like I need to vent out somewhere, on both what happened to Raymond and about Return to the Three Kingdoms.

I'm pretty sure most of you guys have already read/heard about it, but if not, here's the link: Article

Okay, so I'm disappointed. Not disappointed in Raymond (he's a normal guy, you can't blame him. In fact a lot of guys are way worse than him...), but in his "fans" and his ex. First of all, I can't bring myself to reply to some of these so called fans' posts. Do you really think that girl is a sweetie? Okay, I'm sure that she must have at least one good point (cause Raymond did like her at some point in time), but she freaking took pictures of him while he was asleep and unaware. And I'm pretty sure she leaked them out to get more press and get more jobs. Really, if somebody did that to you would you still call them sweet? Just because she's pretty and has a good education* doesn't mean that she's sweet. And then there are some other people that are saying that he shouldn't feel too bad about it. Okay, geez, then why won't you feel too bad about it when it happens to you?

Here's something from the article that I also want to talk about:

"Charlene Choi worked with both Raymond and Mavis in Jade and Pearl, and does not have much of an impression on Mavis. She said that she thinks Mavis betrayed Raymond and sighed that Raymond met a bad person. As for herself, she is very confident with her current boyfriend (William Chan) and her past lovers. She feels that they definitely will not betray them. At the JSG recording, Raymond appeared full of emotions and had a hoarse voice. He is grateful of Charlene for her support, but regarding to Charlene's comment about him meeting a bad person, and got betrayed by Mavis, Raymond said: "Don't say it like that, don't have too much speculations."

Okay, I'm sorry, but I think that Charlene is right. Mavis betrayed his trust, and I think it's fair for Charlene to say that. Raymond has too much EQ, if I were him I would definitely agree with Charlene right away. *sigh*

On to another topic, man do I hate Lau Ka Ho. Why do you insist on making an MOL2-ish series? And why do you have to make Kaki Raymond's wife and Tavia a maid? I know it's not Kaki's fault, but I really disliked her in E.U. (what a stupid character) and now she's going to my unlike list once again because a stupid producer doesn't know how to assign people characters. Gah... so I guess it really is a Kenvia pairing this time. Hopefully Kenneth isn't a perv in this series, and that his clothing looks better than it does at the costume fitting. Plus, please don't make him some comedic character. Because that just makes him a lot worse; he should be more serious.

{tvb} Only You Beginning Thoughts

I'm not watching GOF for awhile cause I like downloading tons of episodes and marathoning them instead of watching one episode a day, so this is why I switched to watching Only You.

I only watched the first two episodes, but they were really interesting! I'm glad I listened to lee because imo, it's way more interesting than a lot of the new series TVB has. I like how they have mini-storylines, because that means the scriptwriters won't have to drag out the love relationships.I really like Yoyo in this series, and although I wouldn't want Pheobe to be my sister-in-law, I like Kristal's portrayal of her. Kevin still hasn't appeared yet, but it seems he's likeable?

One thing though, is why are their English names so weird? Summer isn't a boy name, and Rainbow isn't even a name! I wonder how she survived her school years...

Yeah, so I totally gave up on this series. I might rewatch it later on, but there are no guarantees. I just got tired of it, so I only managed to watch episodes 1-12 and 20. (Hey, I had to know how it ended. XD)

Basically, a lot of scenes are really boring and/or uninteresting. The only ones that I looked forward to were the ones with Tavia and Chilam, Tavia and Pierre, and Tavia and Ken. Myolie and Chilam scenes were okay, but I didn't really care to watch because the theme video spoiled their ending anyways.

Grace Under Fire

I didn't think that I would be starting this, but I was curious. Plus, I like martial arts series. lol And there's Fala, of course. There are actually a lot of supporting actors I like too.

Anyways, I just started Episode 1 today. And it's okay, but there are two things that I don't like. For some weird reason, Liu Xuan's face is annoying, and I really hate Kenneth's hair. And it seems he's not the only one, because Dominic's hair looks pretty funny as well, plus Kenny's fake white hair looks stupid. The dubbing for Liu Xuan isn't that bad; the voice fits her and she was speaking Canto while filming so the words match her lip movements. I'm looking forward to the Bosco scenes because his character seems interesting. Kenneth's on the other hand, while he might be okay in a drama, he would probably have no friends in real life.

I didn't really write much in my "About Me" page because I was lazy when I first opened this blog. After some thought, I decided to write more, thus the reason for this post. ;) Basically, I only have eight favorite people. I Googled up a 'real definition' of favorite and here it is: "something regarded with special favor or liking", so I guess that's my definition.

I finally watched this! haha To be honest, I didn't really want to watch it because I don't care about Michael. But then, of course, Fala Chen is in it, and I do love my triad films. I didn't really expect anything out of this movie because we all know that nothing will happen to Laughing cause this was before E.U. The funny thing is that the focus of the movie wasn't really even on Laughing, it was more on Yat Gor and Zatoi. But that was actually a good thing, because the Laughing in this movie is no way like the Laughing in E.U. I only really liked the Zatoi and Karen scenes...

Having watched my share of HK triad movies, though, this was full of cliches. I mean, come on, undercovers, drugs, Eric Tsang being the leader? Oh yeah, and not to mention Anthony Wong and Francis Ng. The bunches of cameos and supporting roles that TVB people had was kinda funny though (except for Kenny Wong, he was completely useless, and so was Pierre), and I liked pointing out the people that I knew. Plus, Yuen Biao is in this. haha.

第一誡 (Rule #1)

Yeah, I meant to watch this movie when it came out, but I was too lazy to watch online. I'm glad I didn't, cause then I would be blocking my screen half the time cause there were so many gross scenes...

Anyways, I was watching this movie cause I like Shawn Yue. And that was basically it, cause I usually hate HK horror films cause they almost always end up being stupid. The storyline was okay, even though there were a lot of stuff left unexplained. Like if ghosts were so powerful, isn't the Miscellaneous Affairs Department of the HK police pretty much screwed? lol. Acting was good for both leads. (And I finally get to watch Stephanie Che act again! haha I wonder if she'll ever be in another TVB series?) I think I prefer Ekin in this type of role instead of being a "young" guy in all his movies, plus him dancing with an inflatable dinosaur was pretty entertaining.

Oh yeah, and referring to earlier said gross scenes... there was a bunch of them. The grossest one (imo) was when this girl suicided on the roof and nobody discovered the body until days after. So her skin was all brown and wrinkly and disgusting and I really wish that I didn't see that part. :( And all of Shawn's imagined ghost scenes were pretty gross too. Basically, don't watch this if you're easily creeped out like me.

Episode Thoughts

Episode 7 didn't really have anything interesting going on (imo), except I really like the Commoner's Handbook. lol So cute. :)

Episode 8:

-Yay for Ying Jai and Sze Lung scene!

-Why can't Chi Hui just look happy when he gets points during the competition? Geez, is he so cocky and full of himself?

-Why does that one man get to eat the food by himself? That's mean and unfair to the other people sitting next to him.

-Myolie did well in the graveyard scene, but where the heck did she get those flowers??

As for episode 9, I left it playing in the background while I was reading manga so I really have no idea what the heck went on. lol All I saw was the ending when Chi Hiu's hand got hurt.

PS: I want more Ken scenes!

Thoughts:

Oh Ying Jai... If I were you I would push your older brother into the sea/ocean. Then skip in the lovely green meadows with the girl that I love. But then again that would be murder (or attempted murder if Chi Hiu was a good swimmer).

But really? After that cute fantasy scene and the funny awkward moment between the two brothers, it comes to this? And of course TVB had to have the evil person sit in a black car, unnoticed, laughing at the sufferings of the protagonists.

Also, I don't know if I missed something in the episodes that I skipped, but what is wrong with Tavia's character? How can she not see how awesome Ying Jai is??? Especially how he's so nice to everyone, even Yue Chi Po. Blargh. I wonder if he can somehow work the bro code into this situation.

One question though: Why does their dad look so young in the picture on his tombstone? I mean, no offense or anything but he looks younger than his first wife. o_O

{TVB} The Rippling Blossom Initial Thoughts

So I watched the first episode of The Rippling Blossom last night, and I have to admit it was better than I expected. Of course, Chilam was a big part of why I liked it. haha The comedic scenes with Chilam, Myolie, and Damien were funny and very cute. Tavia didn't have that many scenes, but that's okay, cause later her scenes will probably be mostly with Michael anyways. Now I have to admit, Michael's character is funny in a way because he looks serious and p.offed at everyone. But his seriousness complements Chilam's goofiness perfectly and it makes Chilam even cuter. ;)

Anyways here are some videos to share with you guys! Behind the scenes when they were celebrating Myolie's birthday. :) The second one is the cutest...they are all such little kids! And it actually made me kind of like Michael better now. haha One of the best parts was how Damien was calmly walking by Tavia and Chilam with his camera while they were fighting. XD

I don't think any of you guys know this, but I completely love WuSa! Haha Granted, they only worked on Butterfly Lovers together, but Wu Chun and Charlene Choi make up one of the cutest couple ever! It's too bad that Charlene and William are a couple irl, because I had hoped that WuSa would eventually become a real couple. :( I mean, come on, Chun is such a gentleman (he's a way better guy than William), and from the events WuSa attended together they match perfectly.

{TVB} To Watch or Not to Watch?

The past few TVB series all seemed pretty boring to me imo, and the last series I watched from start to finish was The Mysteries of Love. And the only reason I finished it was cause of FungYi, if it was another couple I wouldn't have even started it (esp. cause of disgusting Lo Sir, but that's another story).

7 Days In Life, Airs Jan. 24th

Actually looking at the poster, there are a lot of appealing factors. Steven, Koni, Yuen Wah, actually pretty much everybody on there except maybe Patrick. haha I think the only reason I really don't want to start it cause it begins airing the week of my finals. Plus when I looked at the pictures on the TVB website, it looks like the ending will have some lame dancing scene just like how Devil's Disciples ended...and that was a really bad ending.

The Rippling Blossom, Airs Feb. 7

This picture has 2/3 reasons why I would watch it: Tavia and Chilam. The other reason is Ken Hung...haha The supporting characters (like Pierre) and Myolie are all quite okay, but I'm not a huge fan of them. One thing is though, the storyline seems dull. And of course, there's Michael Tse. I used to like him in VOH, but after all that Laughing Gor stuff, he seemed way too cocky and unlikeable. In manga, being cocky works, but in real life, not so much. So...I don't know if I should even watch the first episode or if I should wait for Tavia, Chilam, and hopefully Ken cuts. Hopefully someone else will watch it? And then you guys can tell me if it's worth trying. haha

3: Louis Koo and Jessica Hsuan (LJ)

Is this a surprise to some of you guys? I'm pretty sure that LJ was the first couple that I ever liked, and their scenes were the best part of A Step into the Past. I have to admit, I didn't like Sonija back then cause she got in the way of a perfect LJ pairing. haha For me, LJ is the best Golden Couple (the new so-called Golden Couples are a joke these days).

2: Bernice Liu and Moses Chan (Bermo)

Best couple in Love Bond. :) Their chemistry, off and on, is so obvious! They're perfect for each other. BK and MoCha are no match for Bermo. ♥

1: Raymond Lam and Tavia Yeung (FungYi)

Um, I think it's pretty obvious to anyone that knows me that FungYi is my favorite pairing of all time, so there's no explanation needed right? haha

So I watched this a long time ago and I noticed that Tavia was in it, but I didn't really care. haha But recently I rewatched it on my iPod and thought it ironic how Tavia never acted with Wayne Lai and Kent Cheng in any TVB series, but she had scenes with both of them in this movie.

Tavia was actually also in 跑馬地的月光 (Blue Moon). I watched it years ago... I actually have it on DVD but I have no idea where it went. Tavia was Charmaine's friend or whatever and the only scene I remember she was in was when Chilam went looking for Charmaine. If I remember correctly, there were other storylines in it, but I fast-forwarded through those scenes cause I was a Chilam-Charmaine fan back then. Basically all I remember was the beginning of how C&C first met and the ending (which was also stupid). No screencaps cause I'm too lazy to find out what time she comes in.

Cast: Raymond Lam, Tavia Yeung, Ron Ng

Thoughts: Okay so pretty much everybody already knows about this series ever since Hyn5 tweeted it. Either that or they read the AppleDaily News. Anyways, some people are upset that Steven and Fala might not be in it anymore, but I'm pretty okay with it (considering that it's now FungHeiYi). Cause if you think about it, by the way things went in the Sales Presentation, Ron would have more screen time/focus than Steven would. I like Ron a lot, but I would feel pretty bad for Steven.

And besides, it's a freakin TOB reunion. (Of course there's no Leila, Nancy, etc. but that doesn't matter.) I'm assuming that Raymond would be an ancient character, like Steven's in the SP. So, I'm hoping his character is as good as Kau Chung. Then it would be like SNKC but plus a time traveling Ron (who I hope has better hair than in the SP). Of course it would be much better if Fala doesn't have to film the gods.com series and she gets paired up with Ron. :D And please, Lau Ka Ho, don't make Raymond an ancient Kingsley.

Oh yeah. And give 2R some awesome bromance scenes.

It's a wonder how I love him so much but I never really blogged about him before. And I like him so much that sometimes I wonder if my love/admiration/plain fangirl-iness for him will surpass FungYi... But of course, some FY thing happens (like the awards hug) and then I stop wondering.

OT: OMG AM I READING THIS RIGHT?!?!?! I JUST SAW ON HYN5'S TWITTER THAT BACK TO THE THREE KINGDOMS WILL HAVE FUNGHEYIYI IN IT!!! :O HOPING THAT TVB DOESN'T SCREW THIS PLAN UP, CAUSE I REALLY WANT MY TOB REUNION!!!!! (Excuse my all caps, I am just way too excited. And this FY news is totally what I was just talking about.)

lol Anyways, most of the time, I like him more than Ray. Especially if Ray dances some stupid dance that his "choreographers" tell him to do. And right now it's Leehom > Ray.

So, Leehom deserves a total revamping of my blog. Well, tech it's only the header/layout but whatever.
