{update} kevia gifset: eye in the sky ep 10

yeah, i know i said that i wouldn't update this blog anymore, but i just wanted to post some gifs that i made of kevia in 'eye in the sky.' i just love szeto sir & jan together so much haha

{update} hi

I haven't updated this blog in more than a month! I've just been busy with school work, and there also weren't any interesting TVB series for me to watch after I finished 'Return of the Silver Tongue'.... However, 'Storm in a Cocoon' has been captivating for the past 15 episodes. The acting is spot on (go Stevia! ♥) and the plot is quite interesting. Hopefully the series doesn't lose its quality as it gets into the later half of the series. I'm really curious as to who the killer is (I have a hunch that it's Ka Hin...)

Anyways, I also have a new header up! I can't believe I only used two headers last year...lol.

Aren't they the cutest? I really hope they have a happy ending in this series!

{tvb} A Great Way to Care Ep 16-25/Final Thoughts

I started watching this series with high expectations, and I was honestly disappointed. I've always liked this genre, but half of the series was about Jackson's dragged on love life. I read that the producer wanted to use AGWTC2 to promote Edwin, hence his many scenes. It's alright for him to try and promote Edwin, but it would have been better if Jackson's storyline had to do with psychology or the cases. Nobody wants to see more of a two-timing and nosy, annoying guy, but apparently the producer had other ideas.
I feel AGWTC2 was a waste of the good cast. Ko Lap Yan (Alex Fong) was barely in the episodes for being the first male lead, and it was even worse for Lois (Yoyo Mung); both of their screentime was minimal and only slightly increased in the last five episodes.
Their relationship is pretty cute, though. I knew that Ko Lap Yan would end up liking her, and it was cute when all the other doctors called him Dai So. If the series had focused more on these two leads, it would have been more interesting, in my opinion, and not strayed off the topic of psychology.
Ah Yan (Tavia Yeung) and Chung Sir (Ben Wong)'s story wasn't well developed, and their ending was rushed. The way that they started  their relationship was very subtle, and I'm pretty sure other viewers were confused when they found out Ah Yan and Chung Sir started going out. Apparently some of their scenes were cut out, which sucks since I thought they were cute together. Ah Yan's end was sad, but there would have been no good ending for her. It was sad that Chung Sir woke up from his coma the day that Ah Yan died.
Jackson (Edwin Siu) got really annoying towards the end, especially when he started to cheat on Scarlett (Christine Kuo) with Jade (Aimee Chan). It doesn't even make sense why both of those nice girls like an annoying busybody like him. I have to admit that his random English phrases were funny (especially in episode 21), but it would have been better if he had less scenes. I wouldn't mind if he had his own series with a storyline like this; anything is better than having Jackson eat into the other cast's screentime.
I liked Ken (Eric Li), Edgar (Oscar Leung), and Jackson's scenes together. I would have rather had the three 'brothers' appear together more than have Jackson relationship scenes. Honestly, Scarlett and Wong Nin Yuet (Power Chan) were pretty useless, and even Kei Gor (Li Sing Cheung) wasn't necessary. It was a waste for Ram Chiang and KK Cheung to be in the sequel again, too. Anyways, it was an okay watch. If you want to enjoy it, just skip through the Jackson scenes. The last storyline about Ah Yan was interesting, so just keep on watching just for it.

{tvb} A Great Way to Care 2: Episodes 10-15

These few episodes have gotten more interesting, and it's too bad it took almost half the series to get better. There's still an unnecessary focus on Jackson (Edwin), but at least his relationship with Scarlett (Christine Kuo) is getting somewhere and he's not just pining after her. Also, I find myself liking Jackson again, and only because of the scene where he yells "what the hell?!" at Jade (Aimee Chan) in episode 15.
The main case was revolved around the Father and three brothers of the orphanage that Ah Yan lived in. I was glad that Wong Sai Bong (Oscar Leung) was finally getting some more screentime, and he played an important part in the case. He also found out the truth about his twin brother, Man Jai, who lived in the orphanage with Ah Yan (Tavia Yeung).
The police suspected Father at first for killing three pedophiles, but it turns out that he was covering for someone. They thought it was Ah Wai, who was molested as a child, but he died before they arrested him.
To be honest, I think TVB made it too obvious who the real killer was. I figured it out when they gave their first hint, so I wasn't surprised when the police figured out who the murderer was. I feel sorry for Ah Yan, though, since she lost two (three if you count Man Jai) of her brothers in one go. There will be more of her background in the coming episodes, so I can't wait for her character to develop into a killer. It's too bad Yoyo and Alex don't get a lot of screentime...

{tvb} A Great Way to Care 2 Ep 1-10 Thoughts

I didn't watch A Great Way to Care, so I have no idea how the characters and relationships were like. To be honest I am only watching AGWTC2 because Tavia is in it. hehe Anyways, in a sense, AGWTC2 is a bigger production that some of the more recent series. The main cast has many big names, and even the supporting cast is well-known. However, having a bigger cast means less screentime overall for everyone, and this is especially true for this series since it only has 25 episodes. It's a shame, and since the cases are dragging as well, there's not that many cases in this series. Well, here are my thoughts so far.
Psychiatrists

Ko Lap Yan (Alex Fong): Nothing much to say since he doesn't get a lot of screentime. I like his character though, since he seems serious but he jokes a lot too. He's also smart and helpful, so I hope he gets more focus soon, considering he is the lead...
Lois (Yoyo Mung): I don't have much thoughts about her yet, since she barely shows up. I do see her and Dr. Ko's relationship growing into something more than just colleagues, especially since her boyfriend Franco died.
Jackson (Edwin Siu): At first, I found his character funny and refreshing. However, he just gets on my nerves now. He has way too many scenes compared to the leads, and he's such a nosy person. I hate how he pines away for Scarlet (Christine Kuo), and those scenes are unnecessary. I really hope Scarlet ends up with Sunny (Power Chan). haha
Jade (Aimee Chan): She's an okay character, nothing much to say. I feel like her character is only there to be Jackson's love interest, since she didn't really help during the Zeus case.
Sam (Ram Tsang): I'm confused about his family matters since I didn't watch the first one.
I like Eric Li and Oscar Leung's characters, and it seems that Oscar will get more focus soon? I don't really care for Christine Kuo's character, but I do hope Power's does better as his job. haha
Police

Chung Sir (Ben Wong): He's a typical cop character. I do look forward to his pairing with Tavia though!
Lam Chung Yan (Tavia Yeung) I liked her Apple character! Always saying "ding" haha. She was really cute. Her normal self is alright, she's a regular go-lucky girl. She's still pretty spunky though.
As for the cases, they were alright. I have to admit I didn't know who the real culprits were, haha. Szeto Fung really got on my nerves, though.

{tvb} Friendly Fire Final Thoughts

As I stated before, I started Friendly Fire with no expectations at all, and I was pleasantly surprised at the quality. Since this was coming from a new producer, I didn't expect the series to be that entertaining. However, Friendly Fire was well worth watching.
Characters

Michael Tse as JJ Kam Jo Jan
I was actually disappointed in this character. Although it is true that JJ still loved Chris, he should not have lead Moon on. His character also took a weird turn after his father died, and it was unrealistic how he would harass Pong Tit Sum and tell a witness to lie in court. Michael did do a good job with JJ, and I was glad he did not show his Laughing Gor side anymore.
Tavia Yeung as Chris Fong Tin Lam
A strong character, and one who knows how to love herself. However, it wouldn't make sense for her to always reject JJ, since he was truly sincere. I loved how she had true faith in the justice system and how she was a good mentor to the trainees. However, one weird thing was when she talked to Kam Po Cheung when he was in his coma. Normal people would be hoping that he would live, but she kept saying how it was okay for him to die. Of course, she shouldn't be giving anyone false hope, but her dialogue made it seem as if though she wanted Po Cheung to die. Tavia did very well in her court scenes, and her comedic scenes were funny too.

Sammy Leung as Kam Po Ti
It's no secret that I love Po Ti Sir. It's true that he's one of those cliche good guys, but I still like him a lot. He's a good kid, and I loved his scenes with JJ and their dad. The funniest scene, in my opinion, was when Judge Man took him out to lunch, and everyone thought he was handicapped because of the way she treated him. His love line with Mei Sun was nothing special, but he would definitely make a sweet boyfriend. Sammy's a decent actor, and his expressions can be cute sometimes. haha
Sharon Chan as Ngai Mei Sun
Mei Sun is a nice girl, except for the fact that she lead her boyfriend on for so long. She didn't really like him, so why be in a relationship with him for ten years? In other aspects, she's caring and a good friend, but nothing special. Sharon was okay in this, but I feel like her acting wasn't as good as it could have been.
------------
The supporting characters were all good, I especially liked Samantha Ko as Kiki. Alice Chan was also good  as Pong Tit Sum, especially since I hated her so much. Louis and Grace were sweet together, it's just too bad that they didn't have many scenes after they went out. Also, the veterans were all good as usual; I loved Benz Hui.
And just in case you guys haven't watched this, the trainees are singing Be True by Joey Yung. They sang it for Kiki in the series, and this version Samantha sings in it as well. I really liked the scene when Kiki played the video that they made for her; it was very touching.

{tvb} Tavia Yeung

Watch this, you guys! It's basically a special with clips from Tavia winning at the TVB anniversary awards and from some of her older series. I actually never watched this year's anni awards, so watching the short clip shown in this video made me regret that I haven't watched it earlier. It was sweet how everyone hugged her, and you can see all her close friends. I also liked the part where they show Him, since he was tearing up for her. I ship them so much now! Anyways, I also liked watching the clips from her old series, esp the FungYi scenes! haha Makes me want to rewatch all of her old series now.

And isn't this cute, you guys? Tavia treated the SSSS cast and crew to dinner! Nice to see a lot of them there. :D This may sound weird, but I want Tavia and Rebecca to become friends. LOL Rebecca is fairly new, so she needs friends in the industry, right? And Tavia is such a good friend, so please make my wish come true. lol (I may or may not also ship Kenneth and Rebecca irl....)

{tvb} Friendly Fire Eps 1-17 Thoughts

I have to admit, I was not expecting much from Friendly Fire seeing that it was just another lawyer series, especially with the bland Michael and Tavia pairing again. However, I am glad that I was proved wrong, as this series proved to be a pleasant watch so far.
JJ (Michael Tse) and Chris (Tavia Yeung) are a couple who end up separating after a misunderstanding, yet they are both still in love with each other. Although it is obvious that they still have feelings for one another, neither of them are willing to attempt to get back together. Sure, JJ tries to get Chris to spend time with him, but he certainly isn't doing any favors for himself by leading Moon (Grace Wong) on, either. The poor girl is in love with him, but he just makes her think that he likes her back while the fact is that he still likes Chris. This also makes Chris jealous yet mad at the same time. However, I do want the two of them to get back together. They're actually really cute together, and I was surprised at their chemistry. They were lacking that in Cupid Stupid and Rippling Blossom, and that was the reason that made me drop those two series. However, Michael has gotten rid of his Laughing Gor image, and I like him here as JJ.
Po Ti sir (Sammy Leung) and Mei Sun (Sharon Chan) aren't a couple yet, but I'm sure their relationship will take the next step soon. It's obvious that Mei Sun cares for Po Ti sir, but I wonder when he'll realize that he likes her. I've been rooting for this couple since the time that Mei Sun gave Po Ti sir a beer through their windows, haha. Also, I've said this before, but I really like Po Ti sir. He's definitely my favorite character in this series so far! Although he's the sort of guy character that appears in every series, I can't help but like him a lot.
The cases are sort of boring, however, but I am excited for JJ prosecuting that Pong guy.

{tvb} Silver Spoon, Sterling Shackles Final Thoughts

The title Silver Spoon, Sterling Shackles means that although the wealthy has resources and opportunities, there are still restraints in place that prevent them from doing what they want. After watching the whole series, I think that this title is more apt than Prominent Family as it correctly describes the cast of characters.
Well, there's too many characters to write about and I forgot some of the points I had to say, so I'll just write  down a few sentences for each of the characters.

Chung Family

Chung Cheuk Man is a jerk, but I still felt sorry for him in the end. Damian portrayed him very well, and the scene when Sum Lan died was heart breaking.
I have to admit, I didn't like Sum Lan in the beginning because she was mean to Chi Kwan, but her character probably suffered the most. She had to watch her husband marry three other women, her daughter in law slept with another man, and the family was almost broken. Although she was paralyzed for the few remaining episodes, Mary Hon did a wonderful job.
Yee Yin finally got her freedom, but she didn't appear in the last few episodes, so it was like she was forgotten. I liked Idy's portrayal, much better than when she was in Catch Me Now.
Elena did a great job with Yee Fong, especially during the trial scene. It's sort of weird how some man would court her so soon after she divorced Cheuk Man, though.
Chi Kwan was a strong, independent character, but she was too in love with Cheuk Man. I would have liked it if she didn't agree to marry Cheuk Man again, but people have their flaws. Also, it may be my bias, but I think Tavia is the only current fa dan able to play this role.
It's unbelievable what a good guy Kai Sun is. Kenneth gets another good guy role again, but he's good at it. I just wish Kai Sun would man up and beat up Mok Shui a few times.
In the beginning, I actually thought Kai Yip was a gentleman, especially how he treated Choi Yuet at first. Of course, his character has his flaws, but I felt sorry for him the whole time. The scene where he poured out his heart and then ran away from Damian was heart breaking.
Ho Yee didn't suffer much in comparison to the rest of her family and there wasn't that much of a focus on her. She's a cute character, though.
For the second half of the series, I forgot that Yee Fong's children existed. I bet the rest of the family did, too.

Others

I thought I would love Siu Yau forever, but her character took a change for the worst. It was a weird transition for her to cheat on Kai Sun, but I guess the scriptwriter wanted to move the plot along...Rebecca did well for her first role, though, and I anticipate her next series.
Let's just say that I was not glad that Muk Shui lived in the end.
I liked Adrian Chau as Tat Chi. It was sort of unrealistic how unwilling he was to change for Ho Yee, but their relationship was sweet anyways.
Ben did a great job with Chai Yat Fai as always. It was unexpected of Yat Fai and Yee Yin not to end up together though.
It seems Siu Yu was forgotten at the end, too. Bella Lam is really cute haha.

{tvb} SSSS Ep 10-28 & The Confidant Ep 1-19 Thoughts

Silver Spoon, Sterling Shackles
The series is enjoyable, albeit a little draggy. The main storyline that concerns Arthur Chung Cheuk Man (Damian Lau) and the building project is uninteresting to me. Although he is smart and calculating, I do not like how he deceives Chi Kwan (Tavia Yeung) and his son, Kai Sun (Kenneth Ma) into thinking that he's doing it to help the mui jai (slave girls) when in fact it is just to benefit himself. Granted, that doesn't make him a bad person, but it's sad when Chi Kwan thinks that he is doing it to help her. I also dislike that Master Fok (Sek Sau) blames Lester's (Stefan Wong) death on the Chung family. I imagine some more drama will be coming from his conflicts with Cheuk Man.
A storyline I prefer to the business one is the one concerning Yee Yin (Idy Chan), Cheuk Man, Chai Yat Fai (Ben Wong), and in a way, Chi Kwan as well. It is surprising how wishy washy Yee Yin is to regarding her love life. She tells Cheuk Man that she does not love Chai Yat Fai anymore, but later when she hears he got beat up, she is willing to drop everything to go visit him. I don't think that she is truly in love with either of them. It feels more like she feels guilt towards the both of them. Anyways, I'm glad that Yee Yin and Chi Kwan are good friends. Chi Kwan learns more about Cheuk Man while observing the conflicts, and Yee Yin has someone to help her during her hard times.
I also enjoy watching Siu Yau (Rebecca Zhu) and Kai Sun together. So far, Siu Yau is such a sweet character, and Kai Sun is also such a good man and loving husband. Muk Shui (Ron Ng) comes back and just has to ruin everything, though. After he comes out of his coma, it's so obvious that he is faking losing his memory. I've got to hand it to Ron, though, because he shows elements of Muk Shui onscreen when nobody is looking, and so only viewers could tell that Muk Shui is only pretending to be mentally challenged. Although I greatly dislike his character, I'm looking forward to how this storyline plays out.
And last but not least, I just have to say that I love Ho Yee (Sire Ma) and Tat Chi (Adrian Chau) together.

The Confidant

I am loving this series right now, after spending a few days to watch from the beginning to episode 19. I really loved the beginning, especially the Jing Ren palace and how Lady Yuen (Selena Li) and the eunuchs and maids interacted with each other. The beginning really made me dislike Empress Dowager Chee Hei (Michelle Yim), but as the episodes passed, I've come to like her. I just don't enjoy the politics scenes or the ones with Empress Dowager Chee On (Maggie Siu), though. The eunuch group of Li Lin Ying (Wayne Lai), On Tak Hoi (Raymond Cho), Sheung Hei (Raymond Wong), Pang Sam Shun (Power Chan), and Tin Sau (Edwin Siu) is especially cute to watch. I didn't like Pang Sam Shun in the beginning, especially when he bullied Sheung Hei and Lin Ying, but he wasn't a bad person. I could tell that he changed after he caused Sin Yung (Nancy Wu) to miscarry.
I don't particularly care for the Emperor (Oscar Leung) or his empress troubles, even though I am glad that Oscar is finally getting screentime. I actually liked the kid emperor story with how Lin Ying helps him know about the Empress Dowager Chee Hei's love for him. I don't like the Princess (Aimee Chan) either. Hopefully, there are more scenes of the eunuch group before it gets all broken up.

{tvb} Sales Presentation Graphics

I was in a graphics making mood last night. :) I already put them up on tumblr, but I just wanted to share here too. hehe

I was going to make more, but the screencaps my player took of the other SPs did not look good. lol

{tvb} TVB 2012 Sales Presentations

Yay, thanks to KennethTaviaRuco @ Youtube for uploading some of the SP videos! (:
On Call 36 Hours II~ I can't wait to watch this, especially since I liked the first one a lot! Hopefully they don't ruin the storyline. :D
I've never actually finished A Great Way to Care, but since it seems like most of the old characters are gone, I don't have to watch the first one to watch this one, right? hehe
From the premise, it doesn't seem that this series will be filmed. I would like to see this, but it would be better if Sharon was replaced by Tavia. haha Still, I wouldn't mind this cast, because I really want Raymond and Ron to film another series together. I need my 2R.

All of the sales presentations can be viewed here at this link or here. Besides the three SP that I've posted up, the one that I'm looking forward to the most is the one with Bobby and Esther. She still looks so pretty and young after all these years, and I can't wait to watch this couple! The Ruco/Edwin/Linda drama doesn't look so bad either, and I am excited for Linda's 90's look, because she suits it so well. haha The other dramas look okay, but the worst one has to be the one with Kenneth and Raymond Wong. I was laughing when I was watching it. It doesn't seem like it will be filmed, though, which is a good thing.

{tvb} Silver Spoon Sterling Shackles Initial Thoughts

I made a new header, featuring Chi Kwan (Tavia Yeung) and Kai Sun (Kenneth Ma)! I know they aren't a couple, but their scenes together in the ten episodes that I've watched are telling me otherwise. I am not shipping them together, though, because I like the Siu Yau (Rebecca Zhu) and Kai Sun coupling a lot. Although I would have loved it if Fala was the one to portray Siu Yau (because of the Ronla pairing and having scenes with Tavia), I think Rebecca is really cute. She's not a bad actress, and there's just something about her that I like. Normally I would not like the typical good girl characters like Siu Yau, but I can't help but like her.
Chan Cheuk Man (Damian Lau) is a very interesting man. He's clever and things always go his way. I wonder why he is so much in love with Yee Yin (Idy Chan) when he knows that she still loved her ex. So far, I don't think he loves Chi Kwan, so it'll be interesting to see when he finally falls for her. I was afraid that the episodes will be too draggy, but at the pace that I'm watching it doesn't seem as bad. However, when it focuses on one storyline, I'll be aching to see what happens in the other one. I think my favorite scene is in episode 10, where Kai Sun is teaching the children English. Kam Muk Shui (Ron Ng) fell asleep, and then he bumps into a little boy and makes him cry. The other kids call him a bully, then they test him to see if he was paying attention to the lessons. It was funny when the kid yelled "Kam Muk Shui is a dog!" LOL. I wish Ron played a better role, but I still like him nonetheless. Hopefully the series stay interesting for the whole 40(!) episodes.

{random} MWNS gif

I found this in my pictures folder, apparently I never posted it. haha I really liked this scene, it was so funny. I actually never finished this series, maybe I should start it again. :)

{pic} Taro Birthday Party!

It's the lovely time of the year when Tavia and Ron have their joint birthday party! I'm glad that they finally had this party together~ Well it was sweet when Ron visited Tavia on set to celebrate their birthday last year,  but it doesn't hurt to give the fans a lot of pictures of Taro together, right? :D

To be honest, Ron doesn't look as happy as he did in the past. I'm pretty sure its because of all the rumors and stuff the media has written about him. However, he does look happier than he does usually with Tavia by his side. I'm just glad that they're still close enough friends to celebrate together.

{pic} Reunited!

Haha I couldn't resist posting this picture up. The Three Kingdoms people are reunited in the future~ Hopefully Johnathan Cheung gets a lot of screentime! haha
I can't wait for AGWTC2! :) I'm not a fan of sequels like these where they get rid of most of the main characters, but I like series with cases in it. In this picture, Tavia doesn't look that bad, but in other ones her makeup looks horrible. D: Good thing this is just her undercover attire.

{new} Ruco Header

Yeah, so I changed my header to a Ruco one cause I was getting tired of the Twins one (even if I barely go on...) hehe.
I'm nearing the end of my spring break. :( I was going to watch some TVB series, but I ended up watching How I Met Your Mother instead. haha But I had time today to do 3 graphics. *sigh* No motivation these days, plus I'm rusty. So they look pretty bad. And more fit for tumblr. haha
